Toni Wolthusen – 1st Grade

Education: B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Northern Illinois University

Teaching Experience: I began teaching in 2007 in reading intervention program, 9 years in Kindergarten at Zion-Concord in Bensenville, currently in my first year here at St. John’s

Years at St. John’s: I am a St. John’s alumni and lifelong church member.  This is my first year teaching 1st Grade at St. John’s.

Favorite Bible Verse: Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.  and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

One fun fact:  My family lives in Lombard and we love doing fun things together.  My husband, Mike, and I enjoy taking our son Aiden to explore different parks and we love going to the Zoo.  I love teaching in a place that I can call “home”.  Being able to share my faith, encourage my students, and remind them that God made them special and in His image.  I love being able to share with them that God is always faithful and just.  I love to work and challenge students to learn in many different ways, all while having fun.
