Kimberly Wegrzyn – Special Resource
Education: Elmhurst College – Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Endorsement and a minor in Psychology.
Experience in Teaching: I have been working with kids since I began babysitting as a kid, continued to work in a Day Care as a teacher and assistant director while getting my degree at Elmhurst. I did my own home day care when my older two boys were young. I went back into teaching at a Charter School for 2 years and then substitute taught for two years including two long term 3rd grade substitute positions. I then moved to be at St. John’s
Years at St. John’s: I came to St. John’s as the LEAP teacher and for one of those years did Afternoon Kindergarten as well. I was here for 5 years before staying home with my youngest son. I returned last year as a preschool aide and this year am teaching preschool full-time.
Favorite Bible Verse: Micah 6:8 …..To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
My missional passion is to love others in a Jesus like love and I especially have a heart for teaching young children. Their little hearts are so open and in need of love and guidance, their minds are little sponges longing to learn. I love Jesus and feel so blessed to know a loving God who gave us a Holy Spirit for faith to use for others to see that I am encouraged to be part of a Christian community to share this God given gift.
I love spending time with my family, cooking favorite meals, and feeding them. I truly love cooking. I also like bike rides and reading historical fiction books or good Christian fiction stories. I like to live in the moment as much as possible.
One fun fact: I have completed 3 different sprint triathalons in Naperville in my life and one full triathalon as a team with two other woman. I did the biking portion in Lake Geneva. I also did one duathalon.
